Turkey's Operation in Syria and Human Rights in the Region
Turkey's military operations in northern Syria in recent years have caused serious problems affecting the civilian population in the region. Although these operations caused human rights violations and displacement, unfortunately they did not attract enough attention from the international community. Attacks carried out in civilian areas threatened peaceful life and left people in the region in a difficult situation.
The operations left a great impact, especially on the Kurdish population in the region. Kurds, as an important ethnic group that has existed in the region for many years, have been displaced as a result of these operations, their right to life has been violated and their social order has been turned upside down. This situation has increased the concerns of human rights activists who defend the rights of Kurds in the region.
On the other hand, the USA and Russia are considered guarantors of stability in the region. However, the conflicts between these two great powers and the fact that these countries have different goals make the situation in northern Syria more complicated. It is not classified information that Russia wants the autonomous Kurdish administration in northern Syria to make concessions to the Syrian Regime administration, and that the USA wants the autonomous Kurdish administration to further resist Iran's influence in the region.
Unfortunately, Turkey's attacks on the region are ignored by both states, due to Russia's efforts to maintain balance in the region in its favor and the United States to adopt a policy aimed at limiting Iranian influence in the region.
In this context, the international community needs to come together and take solution-oriented steps to ensure stability in the region. We should no longer stand by and watch the attacks of the Turks against civilians and the war crimes they commit.
